“Until one is committed there is hesitancy; the chance to draw back. There is one elementary truth. The ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans. That the moment one commits then providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that never would have occurred. Incidents, meetings and material assistance which no one could have dreamed come his or her way. Begin it now.” ~ The Way of the Champion by Jerry Lynch
I found the above quote from “The Way of Champion” by Jerry Lynch so powerful. Specifically, I thought it was the perfect way to describe this business and the way in which we achieve success. What an incredible word for this success in this business: commitment.
Commitment will make or break your success in any avenue of your life. Be it your fitness, your business or your relationships. If you are not committed, you are not going to succeed.
Word of The Day: Commitment
Too many of us are just poking a stick at this business and are not committed. If that’s you, you’re are wasting your time. You need to be “all-in” and focused on your success to find it. And don’t think that there isn’t a difference from those who are 99% committed and those who are 100% committed. Being 99% committed is someone just going through the motions of the business. They are checking all the boxes but haven’t decided in their hearts that they are committed to this business. If you aren’t committed and not giving it everything you’ve got, your team is going to feel that energy. It will trickle down and they will feel your lack of commitment.
I challenge to look internally and notice two things.
- Are you committed to this business?
- Are you committed to your personal development?
If you aren’t responding YES to both questions, your business is going to go stale, I promise you. These two commitments must work together to create success. If you are committed to the business but you aren’t committed to personally getting better and doing better, you’re going to plateau. Likewise, if you’re putting all your time into trainings and reading books and learning but aren’t putting the hours into your business, what do you expect to happen?
It’s only when we start committing to something that we see systematic change in our lives and success in our businesses. Committing to something is a daily and sometimes moment by moment decision.
“Begin it now.”
