Total Yearly Income: $260,899

What I earned: In 2012, all our income was derived from Network Marketing Opportunity. Our total profits from 2012 were $260,898.93. This was a 185% increase from 2011. This was the year that Amy and I started to refer to the income we were earning as “Monopoly money”. We were earning way more than we ever had in our lives and all we could do was smile. This was also the year we paid off all our credit card debt.

Number of Hours I worked/Activities: This was the year of cutting back on hours and focusing on the activities that reaped the highest amount of reward for our business. I worked 40 hours a week, took most of the summer off and really started to feel like a professional in what I was doing.

What I learned: The power of how things can compound when you setup the right type of business. The power of focusing on things that are scalable. The power of focusing on duplicating yourself. The whole theme of the year was the enormity of the benefits of compounding. In 2010 we made $12,846.54 and now we made $260,898.93. That’s just a crazy increase but we didn’t do anything different. We just focused on doing the same things that we did on Day 1.

What I planned on doing differently: I really wanted to take some time off in 2013. Amy and I built this amazing business that gave us the opportunity to do what we want, when we want, with who we want, and now it was time to take advantage of that. 2013 was going to be the year we really kicked back. We also planned on moving in 2013 because we now had the ability to live wherever we wanted. We were not tied to a JOB; we worked online from the comforts of our own home and could headquarter our life and business wherever we wanted.

What I planned on continuing to do: Staying humble. We started to earn large amounts of money and we wanted to make sure it didn’t change the character of who we are. So, we planned to continue tithing 10% of our income to our spiritual path and other sources of spiritual inspiration for us. Even as our income continued to grow, we really, really wanted to make sure we stayed humble and gave back. It was important to us as individuals and now even more important since we are raising a family.
