I had that same feeling when I first started with Beachbody Coaching, and kept thinking, “Beachbody has already taken off. It’s already become something. The timing is just not right.” You may be feeling that same way. When I got started, I actually had a leader who mentored me in this business. He had built his own Beachbody Coaching business and had been in network marketing for 30 years.
There are so many Beachbody Coaches in my area already
He built a team and was very successful in the Beachbody Coaching organization. Like, really, really successful. I admired him and respected him, and learned a ton from him. When I told him that I was worried there were already too many Beachbody Coaches in my area, he told me, “I want to tell you a story, Keith, and I want you to really hear this. It’s not about the number of Beachbody Coaches near you; it’s about the mindset that you bring to the table.”
He continued…“When I went to my first event, there were so many people in my company that we filled a football stadium! I was sitting up in the 300 section, looking down and watching all these people getting recognized. Watching and hearing about all these things that they had accomplished. I saw all these people here and I thought to myself, ‘That’s going to be me next year. That’s going to be me up on that stage. I’m going to leap frog everyone and I’m going to go from the 300 section to the guy that’s sitting down front, getting recognized for helping all these people’.”
Lo and behold, a year later, my Beachbody Coaching mentor was down there on that stage, being recognized for helping all those people.
Why It’s Not about the Number of Beachbody Coaches
What I realized as I listened to that story is that it’s not about the amount of people that are already signed up as Beachbody Coaches; it’s about what I’m going to do with the Coaching opportunity. There are a million different reasons you can find for why something isn’t going to work, but all you need to do is find one for why it is going to work, and lean on that.
Too many people? So what! You think it’s past time? So what! You know, 30 years ago when people were doing network marketing, it was them going door to door. Yep, back then you had to go into people’s houses and present the business!
But now we’ve got Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, podcasts, and blogs – all these different ways that we can build our own businesses and help other people. It’s not about there being too many people to become a successful Beachbody Coach. All you’re really looking for – and this is going to blow a lot of people away – all you’re really looking for in this business is five people.
Yes, five people.
This is the first thing my Beachbody Coaching mentor taught me.
All you need are five people who have the desire, ability, motivation, and reasons to do this as much as you want to do it.
The second thing my mentor told me was that if there are too many people doing the business, then a lot of people have already heard about Beachbody fitness programs and nutritionals. So, what he would do is tell those people who he spoke with who said they’ve already heard of Beachbody… “Well, you haven’t heard about it from me, so let’s talk for a few minutes.”
Once I understood and embraced these two ideas, I felt like the whole thing was about trying. The whole, entire thing was putting yourself out there because this is a “do and then learn” business, not a “learn and then do” business.
Let me repeat that.
It’s a do… so you go out there, you do an activity, and you might mess up some, but then you learn how to do it a little bit better the next time.
This really isn’t a complicated business, but people make it complicated.
If you want to lean on “there are too many people in my area” – if that helps you to justify a reason for not getting started – then by all means. I’m here to speak truth to you and let you know that if that’s really what’s holding you back, then it’s just an excuse.
This is a business where you can build the biggest, boldest, most beautiful life you can ever dream up. It’s going to take work, it’s going to take hard work, it’s going to take perseverance, it’s going to take being mentored by the right team, but that’s what you can do with this business.
Maybe you are in a situation where you just want to pay off a little bit of debt. There is no opportunity out there right now like network marketing, and in particular, like the Beachbody opportunity.
If you’re looking for change in your life, it doesn’t matter what the circumstances are. What matters is what you do with it.
You bet on you, and you know what? I like that. It was dependent on me; it wasn’t dependent on the government or my boss or my spouse or my family or anything. My success in this business was dependent on what I did with it.
