[00:03:08.3] KC: Welcome to the All About Beachbody Coaching Podcast. Keith here and today, we’re talking about what if I don’t want to post on social media? So I am considering becoming a coach, I have some fears though and I have some reservations. Like I see other people posting on social media about Beachbody and in all honesty, it kind of annoys me a little bit, right?

I know because I was one of those people and here’s what really shifted it for me. Actually before I go into that, I want to say, if you don’t want to post on social media, you don’t have to and if you don’t want to post on certain social medias, you don’t have to. You could learn LinkedIn, you could learn YouTube, you could learn podcasting, you could learn Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat.

There’s all these different — I’m probably dating myself too. There’s probably 18 year old people listening to this podcast and you might be like, “Dude, people don’t even use those one anymore.” But yeah, what if I don’t want to post on social media? Again, you don’t have to. You can literally build this the traditional way. You can build it with parties, you can build it talking to people at events and stuff like that or you can use social media.

I prefer social media because you can build a business much, much, much faster on social media. Here’s the deal though, here’s what I think really shifted it — or I shouldn’t say I think, I know what really shifted it for me. It was two things. The first thing I got to hear Chalene Johnson speak. If you don’t know who she is, check out her podcast, it’s The Chalene’s Show, a really good podcast.

But I got to hear her speak and it was right when I was starting to use social media for my business and she said a few of her family members who are like, “You know I used to seeing your post on Facebook but now all you do is talk about business.” She said, “I actually made the decision that I was going to use my social media for business and if I wanted to talk to my friends and my family, I would do that over the phone or I would send a text message or I would meet them in person.” So she said that and I was like, “All right, I can see that,” and that was one of the decisions that I made.

But the other piece was a lot of people, including myself, you look at this business and think that you have to go out and you have to sign people up and you have to post things to sign people up and you have to post things to get people to sign up and it’s all about people signing up, right? What I learned was this business is a gift. This business is a gift that has the ability to change your life and there are so many people out there who are literally dying for something that works.

They’re literally dying on the inside because they’ve tried so many diets, our food system is all whacked, all the pesticides they’re putting in food, all the food that they’re selling is food that is not even food. You can’t even read the ingredients. It’s nothing like it was 50 years ago when it was real food. Ingredients were meat, potatoes, vegetables, fruits maybe a little bit more than 50 years ago. 75 years ago, and then we had all these crazy stuff. So people want to lose the weight. They’ve tried so many ways to do it but they literally failed over and over and over again.

You have something that works. You have something that if we’re looking at their fitness, that we have the fitness, we have the nutrition and then we have the support and I can honestly look anybody in the eye and let them know that I guarantee you, if you follow the plan it will work, right? Same thing for the business opportunity. So once I got to really understand that I was like, “Wow people really want this. I just have to tell — I have to present it in a way that shows what it can do for people.”

So if you’re looking at the people that you think you’re icky, you don’t want the way that they’re posting on Facebook, don’t do it that way and I guarantee you they are not succeeding in this business because not every Beachbody coach is successful. What we’re going to teach you is how to do it right. We’re going to teach you how to post in a non-icky way. We’re going to teach you how to post so you’re adding value to other people’s lives. Wow! When I learned that, I like the feeling of that.

How do I add value? You can be funny, you can be inspirational, you can provide little tidbits of information that actually help somebody to have a better day. That’s what we’re talking about adding value, so we’re going to teach that. We’re not going to teach and you’re not going to post “XYZ program is on sale. This program is discounted. Join this group,” that type of stuff, no. We’re going to teach you how to add value to other people’s lives.

So again, if you’re not comfortable posting on social media, fine. You don’t have to. I highly, highly, highly recommend it and I highly recommend that if you’re going to become a coach, one of the first things that I focus on is getting you to really understand that people want what we have. They want it, not only that, they’re dying for it because so many people are overweight. Literally overweight, broke, can’t pay their bills and they’re stressed to the max. What we offer, what we have offers relief to that and once I understood that, I didn’t have a problem posting at all.

Did I made mistakes? Sure. Did I post things that I wish I had worded differently? Sure. But this is a business. You’ve got to go out there. You’ve got to try things. Did I have times where my family didn’t like what I was posting? Yeah. Do I use Facebook to connect with my family? Not really. My mom sees pictures of the kids every once in a while and she loves that but if I want to talk to my brother or sister, uncle, mother, father, friends, I text them or I call them.

So really, really cool thing there and it gives you the opportunity to understand that there’s somebody out there just like you that’s doing this business. Now in order to get that document, send a text message to 38470 and then in the body of the text message just type “Beachbody”.

So again, send a text message to the number 38470 and then in the body of that, just type “Beachbody” and what we’ll do is we’ll get you connected and we’ll make sure that you get that document.
