[INTRODUCTION]

KC:   Welcome to The Business of Life Podcast. My name is Keith Callahan, your host.

Today, I want to talk to you about the only two things that I believe – or let me rephrase that. The only two things that have consistently worked for me over time to keep myself in a – to keep my energy high, to keep my spirits high, to keep my focus high, to keep my love high, to keep my gratitude high.

So I spent a little bit of time – or a good amount of time in therapy and that was about, geez, 12, 13 years ago now. One of the things that – I had a really good therapist. One of the things that she said is, “You’ve learned all the tools. You’ve learned all the stuff. You don’t need more therapy. You need to do it and you need to be it now.”

I’m grateful for that because a lot of people can use their therapist as a crutch. I’m not saying that I would never go back. I’m just saying that it was – she kicked me out of the nest. She kicked me out of the nest and one of the things that – when I got kicked out of the nest, here’s something that I learned and I adopted really quick.

The first thing is, is that I need to focus intensely on what I want my life to look like and I need to be a creator of my life physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, financially. I need to get in the space and keep myself in a certain space and that is the most important work in my life.

That is more important than going to one of my kids’ events. That is more important than spending time with my wife. That is more important than showing up at work. That is more important than taking a phone call from a friend.

Putting yourself, putting myself in a certain space trumps all of that because until you’re in that certain space, you can’t show up for life the way that people need you to show up for life.

A lot of us are just – we’re scrambling around in life when maybe we need to take a little bit more time to sit at our altar, find a connection with God, find a spiritual path. Maybe it’s meditation. Maybe it’s prayer. Maybe it’s mountain biking. Maybe it’s going to a yoga class. Maybe it’s reading, dancing, swimming, whatever it is that does it for you.

Here’s what I believe the most important thing of a spiritual path is, is we remove the connection with our ego where we believe that that’s what we are, our ego, our mind, our self-centeredness, when we focus in on a spiritual path, on spirituality. We move from our head, from our self-centeredness into our heart.

That’s what I believe the most important work is for us. Then there are a lot of times that we have all these things and everybody has these things. It might be insecurity. It might be fear. It might be doubt. It might be shame. It might be guilt, depression, anxieties, any of these things.

They can attach to us and we can try to identify each one and dig into each one. But all we’re doing when we do that is we’re giving it more and more energy. Here’s the way that I look at it. It’s all just negative energy. It’s all just negative energy and it’s not me. It’s something that’s attached to me. I look at it that way and I detach it from myself. But sometimes it fights. It comes back and it might be days or weeks or months that it keeps trying, it keeps trying, it keeps trying. But when you look at it and you understand that this isn’t me, these thoughts are not me, this anger isn’t me, this depression, this anxiety, whatever it is, guilt, shame, fear, it’s not me. I am this beautiful, divine creation, and all that outside stuff isn’t you.

I believe those are the two most important things we can do in our life. Shine a light on the beauty and then cast away all that crap that follows us around from our past.

Have a beautiful, beautiful day. We will see you on the next episode. Peace!

[FINAL MESSAGE]

KC: Hey, Keith here, and today I have a free gift for you. Listen this free gift is a list of the 12 most influential books that I’ve ever read. These are the books that have helped me to create the mindset, learn the philosophies, learn the skills to really create this big, beautiful, life that we’re living now.

I read a crazy amount of books, I really do. I’ve probably read thousands of books and these are the top 12 books that – they’re the ones that I go to, they’re the ones that I work with over, and over, and over again. They are highlighted, outlined, dog-eared. And I put this list together for you because I want it to be a shortcut.

I don’t want you to have to – you don’t have to go out and read the thousands and thousands of books. These are the 12 that I highly recommend. I have a detailed review for each book, explaining why I recommend them, why I like them, when I worked with them in my life, what part of my life they helped me to improve.

So I put this together for you, and made it super each for you to get this list. All you have to do is send a text to the number 33444 and then in the body of that text, type in “12books” with no space. So that’s the number “12books”. Again, send the text message to the number, address it to 33444 and then type in “12books” as the message and just send that. And that’ll get you setup to receive those top 12 most influential books that have had the biggest impact on my life.

[SPONSOR MESSAGE]

KC: Today’s episode is brought to you by our sister podcast, All About Beachbody Coaching. So All About Beachbody Coaching really allows us to do this podcast without having all those annoying commercials in the beginning for you. So All About Beachbody Coaching, the Beachbody business that Amy and I run, actually funds this podcast.

So yes, it does cost money to run this podcast, we do not charge you anything, we don’t throw in commercials or anything like that, it really is, it’s funded by our business and by our other podcast, All About Beachbody Coaching. And for me, I’m just eternally grateful for this opportunity because it’s allowed me to really create the life that I love to live.

It’s given me the opportunity to do what I want, when I want, with who I want, and even deeper than that, it’s allowed me to help others to create the same for themselves. It’s allowed me to help hundreds of other people become part time or full time Beachbody coaches, to leave that corporate 9 to 5 job and create passive income in their lives.

And really there’s nothing like that. It’s cool when you have success, it’s so much more rewarding when you help others. So I mention this or a few reasons, the first reason is, that’s actually the way that I work with people and mentor people. I don’t do anything outside of Beachbody coaching because I know that it’s such a powerful life changing tool.

So if you’re curious about working with me, interested in working one-on-one, interested in creating the type of life that you wanna live, I suggest swinging over there. The other reason is, even if somebody’s just curious, like you’ve heard about Beachbody, you know there’s a lot of Beachbody coaches out there. Maybe some of them you get a little annoyed with.

It really dives into what this business is really about, which is life transformation. So if you’re just curious, swing over there. And then the other piece is, if you’re really considering becoming a Beachbody coach, I highly, highly recommend you listen to that first.

Alright, much love guys. Again, that is the All About Beachbody Coaching Podcast, our sister podcast.

ANNOUNCER: Thank you for listening to the Business of Life Podcast. Apply what you learned today and you’ll be one step closer to creating the life you love to live.
