[INTRODUCTION]

KC:  Welcome to The Business of Life Podcast. My name is Keith Callahan, your host, and today I want to talk to you about finding peace where you are. I know it’s so cliché, right?

Everybody has heard of this one before. I just want to share how I am working with this right now. So we all have – like I think there’s sort of a duality to it. So there’s the part that we’re wired to want to be more, to get more, to strive for more, to become more. Like that’s the way we’re wired to evolve.

Then in this evolving, we can get caught up in looking towards the future when things are going to get better, right? So I don’t think that it’s bad to have these wants, these desires, this evolution of yourself, of your soul, of your spirit, of the things that you want to do, of the things that you want to get, of the things that you want to be, especially of the things that you want to be.

What I mean by being is who are you becoming. So we want to evolve that way. I think one of the best ways that we can evolve, one of the most important ways, probably the most important thing that we can do is to be content with where we are now.

It’s really a push and a pull and I will give you a story that happened during my life that I used for this and I just – I don’t know why it just sticks with me so much. But when I was in my early 20s, a friend of mine and I decided that we wanted to open a fitness center. We didn’t know if it was something that we wanted to buy. Like a gym, a small gym. We didn’t know if it was something we wanted to buy, something that we wanted to start from scratch, something that we wanted to like be a partner in something. We just knew that we both had the entrepreneurial spirit and we wanted to give this a go. We were in our early 20s and there was so much that we didn’t know.

We knew we liked health and fitness and we knew a little bit about working out. We both worked out every single day. So like that was it. That was the extent of what we knew. We didn’t know anything about running our own business. We didn’t know anything about starting a business. We didn’t know anything about the fitness industry.

So we set down on a path and we put blinders on. We were determined to make this happen. We were determined to be successful in this venture. We were determined to get our own gym up and running and we worked our butts off. We really did. We were focused in on this. We were focused in on whatever we had to do, to make it happen. We did that and we became really good and we got close. We had three different fitness centers or three different projects that we fully worked on but never came through to completion and it was purchasing two different gyms.

Like, we went through. We started negotiating stuff like that. It didn’t work out and then one final project where we were looking at opening up a fitness center in Amherst, Massachusetts where our old college was. Ironically, the exact spot that we were looking to do it, somebody else did.

But it just wasn’t the right time for us. So anyways, during that whole process, I remember my business partner, his father was working as a mentor to us. We were going to the business plan with him once and we were presenting it and we were all like serious and focused and he said to us, he said, “Guys, in life, you have to learn to enjoy the process.”

I remember thinking like yeah, I will enjoy it once we get this done. But this isn’t fun right now. This is a ton of work. We’re not getting paid. We’ve been doing this for a year. Every time we put a business plan together, you rip it apart and what not.

But I will never forget that, enjoying the process. So whatever it is that we’re doing in life, wherever we are, it’s OK to look to the goal, to look to the future, to look to who you want to become, what you want to do, what you want to get. But we have to appreciate and love and be present and have gratitude and be humble. All of those things are where we’re at right now.

And stop trying to rush on to the next thing. So I wish for you patience and gratitude and loving kindness and humbleness and all those beautiful words for everything that you have in your life right now because most of my listeners have food. They have shelter. You have people in your life that love you. You have enough. You have enough to be happy.

All right. Have a beautiful, beautiful day. See you in the next episode. Peace!

[FINAL MESSAGE]

KC: Hey, Keith here, and today I have a free gift for you. Listen this free gift is a list of the 12 most influential books that I’ve ever read. These are the books that have helped me to create the mindset, learn the philosophies, learn the skills to really create this big, beautiful, life that we’re living now.

I read a crazy amount of books, I really do. I’ve probably read thousands of books and these are the top 12 books that – they’re the ones that I go to, they’re the ones that I work with over, and over, and over again. They are highlighted, outlined, dog-eared. And I put this list together for you because I want it to be a shortcut.

I don’t want you to have to – you don’t have to go out and read the thousands and thousands of books. These are the 12 that I highly recommend. I have a detailed review for each book, explaining why I recommend them, why I like them, when I worked with them in my life, what part of my life they helped me to improve.

So I put this together for you, and made it super each for you to get this list. All you have to do is send a text to the number 33444 and then in the body of that text, type in “12books” with no space. So that’s the number “12books”. Again, send the text message to the number, address it to 33444 and then type in “12books” as the message and just send that. And that’ll get you setup to receive those top 12 most influential books that have had the biggest impact on my life.

[SPONSOR MESSAGE]

KC: Today’s episode is brought to you by our sister podcast, All About Beachbody Coaching. So All About Beachbody Coaching really allows us to do this podcast without having all those annoying commercials in the beginning for you. So All About Beachbody Coaching, the Beachbody business that Amy and I run, actually funds this podcast.

So yes, it does cost money to run this podcast, we do not charge you anything, we don’t throw in commercials or anything like that, it really is, it’s funded by our business and by our other podcast, All About Beachbody Coaching. And for me, I’m just eternally grateful for this opportunity because it’s allowed me to really create the life that I love to live.

It’s given me the opportunity to do what I want, when I want, with who I want, and even deeper than that, it’s allowed me to help others to create the same for themselves. It’s allowed me to help hundreds of other people become part time or full time Beachbody coaches, to leave that corporate 9 to 5 job and create passive income in their lives.

And really there’s nothing like that. It’s cool when you have success, it’s so much more rewarding when you help others. So I mention this or a few reasons, the first reason is, that’s actually the way that I work with people and mentor people. I don’t do anything outside of Beachbody coaching because I know that it’s such a powerful life changing tool.

So if you’re curious about working with me, interested in working one-on-one, interested in creating the type of life that you wanna live, I suggest swinging over there. The other reason is, even if somebody’s just curious, like you’ve heard about Beachbody, you know there’s a lot of Beachbody coaches out there. Maybe some of them you get a little annoyed with.

It really dives into what this business is really about, which is life transformation. So if you’re just curious, swing over there. And then the other piece is, if you’re really considering becoming a Beachbody coach, I highly, highly recommend you listen to that first.

Alright, much love guys. Again, that is the All About Beachbody Coaching Podcast, our sister podcast.

ANNOUNCER: Thank you for listening to the Business of Life Podcast. Apply what you learned today and you’ll be one step closer to creating the life you love to live.
