EP147 Putting Others First is Key to Getting What You Want
The best way to achieve your goals and get what you want is by putting others before you. Here’s why…

I just want to say this morning a lot of people ask, “What can I do to help out with the podcast?” and really it’s pretty simple. The biggest thing you can do for us is to just subscribe to the show.

All right. Today we’re going to talk about helping the people first. So a lot of times in business and in life, we can really – like we just get caught up. We get caught up in our own wants and our own needs and our own desires and that’s OK. But here’s how you really want to be doing life. Here’s how you’re going to find the most fulfillment in life, the most happiness and you’re going to drastically, drastically increase the amount of stuff that you want. It’s real simple.
So in your own quiet time, in your own prayer time, in your own time when you’re in your journal, when you’re doing your planning, when you’re creating your life, when you’re envisioning what you want life to be like, you set your goals. You set the things you want to accomplish for the year. You set the places you want to go, the things you want to do. You set all of that and especially when we’re talking about the things in life where you’re going to contribute, where you’re going to add value. So maybe it’s your work. Maybe it’s a leader in a certain civic area. Maybe it’s something in your community.
But you set these goals that you want to do and then you shift. You take those goals and you put them on the side and you put them in your – you leave them in your notebook or wherever you put them down and then you go out there into the world and you single-mindedly focus on helping the people, helping the people and putting the people’s wants, needs and desires first.
When you help enough people get what they want – this is a Jim Rohn quote or maybe a Zig Ziglar quote. I don’t know, one of those guys. But when you help enough people get what they want, you can have everything that you want.
So always remember that. When you’re going about life, when you’re going about just everyday stuff – so a lot of times we get so caught up in our heads. You have these visions. You have these dreams and those are OK. Put those aside when you go out and do life and put the people first.
