[INTRODUCTION]
KC: Welcome to The Business of Life Podcast. My name is Keith Callahan, your host, and grateful for you here today.
Grateful to be standing in front of this microphone, sharing just all these different life philosophies and life principles that have been taught to me, passed down to me from mentors and teachers and other stuff that I’ve just gotten during prayer and meditation time that has helped me in my life and that I’ve worked with others. Now I get to pass it on through this microphone into your ear buds or your computer, wherever you’re listening.
So today I want to talk to you about the – about one of the principles that I learned to build personal power and what I mean by personal power is the ability to have control over yourself, over your thoughts, over your mind, over your situation in life.
This principle that I learned, one of my teachers taught me – we were in a situation. It was a spiritual teacher and the spiritual path that I follow, sometimes we go for long periods of time in prayer, long periods of time without food, without water, and sometimes it gets hard.
The purpose of that is because when things get really hard in our life, we realize that we can’t do it by ourselves and we turn to prayer, right? Like, if you’ve ever had something super hard come up, super difficult and you’re totally freaked out. You have no control. Like, the first thing we do is like, “Oh god, help me,” right? Like, that’s what we do.
So anyway, we’re in a situation and it wasn’t like that type of situation. But it was – people were hot. They were uncomfortable. They wanted to get a drink, stuff like that. He started telling this story about how any time in life – he said it doesn’t matter how bad things are. You could literally be in a concentration camp, right? And this is what – if you look at Viktor Frankl, who was a concentration camp survivor, the principle that I’m going to share with you is exactly what he did.
So anyway, he said that anytime, no matter where you are, no matter what you situation, you can always find one beautiful thing to focus on. So many times, we focus on this. We focus on that. We focus on the future. We focus on the past. We focus on discomfort. We focus on the things that we don’t want. Every time we do that, every time we focus on something that we don’t want, something that we don’t want, something that happened in the past, that we wish was different, something that we’re worried about in the future, every time we’re doing that, we’re losing our personal power.
There’s always something beautiful in every moment wherever you are. Develop the practice of walking through your days moment to moment, looking for that beauty, one beautiful thing. Air, the wind, the flower, a baby’s cry, a kind act, your breath, the beauty of looking at your hand. It goes on and on and on. One beautiful thing.
Then as your mind wanders, as your mind starts to go back and starts to focus on other things, that’s OK. That’s what our minds do. They wander. Building your personal power is the ability to bring your mind back to focus on one beautiful thing. What if you did that for a week, a month, a year? How much more personal power would you have?
All right. Have a beautiful, beautiful day. Focus on one beautiful thing. Peace!

I read a crazy amount of books, I really do. I’ve probably read thousands of books and these are the top 12 books that – they’re the ones that I go to, they’re the ones that I work with over, and over, and over again. They are highlighted, outlined, dog-eared. And I put this list together for you because I want it to be a shortcut.
I don’t want you to have to – you don’t have to go out and read the thousands and thousands of books. These are the 12 that I highly recommend. I have a detailed review for each book, explaining why I recommend them, why I like them, when I worked with them in my life, what part of my life they helped me to improve.

[SPONSOR MESSAGE]
KC: Today’s episode is brought to you by our sister podcast, All About Beachbody Coaching. So All About Beachbody Coaching really allows us to do this podcast without having all those annoying commercials in the beginning for you. So All About Beachbody Coaching, the Beachbody business that Amy and I run, actually funds this podcast.
So yes, it does cost money to run this podcast, we do not charge you anything, we don’t throw in commercials or anything like that, it really is, it’s funded by our business and by our other podcast, All About Beachbody Coaching. And for me, I’m just eternally grateful for this opportunity because it’s allowed me to really create the life that I love to live.
It’s given me the opportunity to do what I want, when I want, with who I want, and even deeper than that, it’s allowed me to help others to create the same for themselves. It’s allowed me to help hundreds of other people become part time or full time Beachbody coaches, to leave that corporate 9 to 5 job and create passive income in their lives.
And really there’s nothing like that. It’s cool when you have success, it’s so much more rewarding when you help others. So I mention this or a few reasons, the first reason is, that’s actually the way that I work with people and mentor people. I don’t do anything outside of Beachbody coaching because I know that it’s such a powerful life changing tool.
So if you’re curious about working with me, interested in working one-on-one, interested in creating the type of life that you wanna live, I suggest swinging over there. The other reason is, even if somebody’s just curious, like you’ve heard about Beachbody, you know there’s a lot of Beachbody coaches out there. Maybe some of them you get a little annoyed with.
It really dives into what this business is really about, which is life transformation. So if you’re just curious, swing over there. And then the other piece is, if you’re really considering becoming a Beachbody coach, I highly, highly recommend you listen to that first.
Alright, much love guys. Again, that is the All About Beachbody Coaching Podcast, our sister podcast.
ANNOUNCER: Thank you for listening to the Business of Life Podcast. Apply what you learned today and you’ll be one step closer to creating the life you love to live.
