EPISODE 38
[00:00:12] KC: Welcome to today’s episode of Mindset Monday. Keith here, and today we’re talking about accountability partners. And I wanna be very clear that when I talk about and mention accountability partners, this is much different than a coach, a teacher, a mentor, or a leader that you’re following. So a coach, a teacher, a mentor, a leader, they are already at a place that you are looking to go. So what an accountability partner is, is an accountability partner is somebody that is where you are and wants to go where you wanna go.
So we can have the teacher, we can have the coach, we can have the mentor who shows us the end result, but we can’t really get the accountability that we need. We can’t get the same type of synergy from a mentor, a coach, or a leader that we can get from an accountability partner. And the reason for that is because with an accountability partner you have somebody who’s at the same level as you that is looking to go to the next level. You have somebody’s that going to be able to push you, you have somebody that is going to be going through the same struggles, the same triumphs, the same just stuff and growing.
Whatever your goal is, whatever the common goals are. And I’ve had so many different accountability partners in my personal life. I’ve had people that we’re growing on a spiritual path together. So we just sort of got started and we’re growing on a spiritual path together. I’ve had accountability partners within my business where we have similar goals and similar objectives and we’re holding each other accountable. We’re pushing each other and we’re making sure that each other are really getting to the levels of success that we want.
And there’s a funny thing with accountability partners, we’ll actually be more accountable to someone else than we will to ourselves. And when you get a group, maybe two, maybe three people and everybody has a common goal and everybody is showing up and you know that those other one, or two, or three people they’re gonna be showing up every day, it helps you to show up and it helps you to do the work. And another important thing when you’re looking for an accountability partner for whatever it is that you’re looking to do in life, whatever goals it is that you’re looking to accomplish, make sure they have the same level of commitment that you do.

And I wanna be very clear with this, saying that you’re committed and actually being committed are two very different things. And sometimes with different things in life I’ve needed to go through a few people before I found the right accountability partner, especially in business. I’ve also had accountability partners with fitness, and again it’s somebody that has very similar goals to you. Literally going to the gym with somebody else, working out with somebody else, that’s a type of accountability partner.
So much love to you guys, have a beautiful, beautiful week. While you’re out there looking for mentors, looking for leaders, looking for teachers, don’t forget to have your own accountability partner.
Have a beautiful day.
