In this episode, I may embarrass myself a bit when I share about my ritual to get out of a funk and move energy again. But it works for me; maybe you should try it?

[INTRODUCTION]

KC:  Welcome to The Business of Life Podcast. My name is Keith Callahan, your host and today I want to talk to you about a little dance that I do. So it’s funny this morning. I got up and I was just having – literally I’ve been just – I spent some time at the altar and then I spent some time in – you know, probably 20 minutes at the altar and meditation and then sat there just writing and I couldn’t come up with anything. I really couldn’t for this podcast and that’s very unlike me.

Usually, when I spend the time at the altar, I just get into this receiving space and the – what I’m supposed to teach about and talk about comes right to mind. So anyway, I was doing all that and then I was like, man, I got to just – I got to move this energy because I’m like stuck in my head and I’m doubting myself and all this.

I think I’ve recorded a podcast about this in the past, but it’s so funny how this works. So it has me in a good mood and ready to record the podcast and I call it my “funky dance” and – all right, so this is live recording. I just had to pause that. My daughter came up and told me it’s trash day and I have to go take out the trash.

So yeah, I didn’t have a topic to record for this and I just couldn’t like get going with it. So I have this thing and I call it my “funky dance” and literally I like stand up and I start like bopping my head up and down, almost like I’m listening to rap music, right? Start bopping my head up and down and then side to side and then I start like bouncing around a little bit on my toes and I start saying like, “Funk, funk, funk! Get rid of that funk.”

Literally, I start doing that and dancing around and then I’m not going to go into the whole thing, because it probably gets embarrassing. But it’s totally free-flowing and it’s so weird. Within like five minutes, every time I do it, I just feel lighter. I feel happier and it’s – literally, it’s just like funk, funk, funk, get rid of that funk. I’m bopping up and down and then I start making up different words and that’s it.

But sometimes, we have to get out of our heads. We’re physical beings and just sitting there and thinking and trying to whatever. Like, just getting up and doing something silly and – I won’t stay stupid but silly like that. It totally moves the energy for me.

So I wanted to share that because maybe it will help. You don’t have to do the funky dance or use whatever words I do. But it’s that movement. It’s that letting go, that releasing and yeah, it’s a big, big part of – the whole entire thing, the whole entire point of this is the movement of energy. That’s the name of the game in life.

We’re trying to stay at the highest level of energy that we can and for me, my little funky dance does it. So funk, funk, funk. Get rid of that funk. And yeah, did that for about five minutes today. I’m feeling good now. And then I was like, well, I will just record about this. It’s so perfect.
