[INTRODUCTION]
KC: Welcome to The Business of Life Podcast. My name is Keith Callahan, your host. Today I want to talk to you about something that I recently went through and it was time for me to stop stepping aside and start stepping in.
I guess I’m really going to break this down in – I have to explain it directly how it’s going down. So as you know, I work in network marketing. The company I work with is Beachbody and the way this works – so I have a large team, a very large team, and I would describe myself – or I shouldn’t say I would. I do describe myself as a leader of leaders on this team. So the one thing that I’ve always focused on is building other leaders.
I’ve been in this business for seven years and one of the things that happens is some leaders come in and they’re doing the business. Then for various reasons, they stop. They stop and they’re not really there. They’re not present. They’re not doing the business anymore.
What happens in those situations is they have other people who they started leading, but they didn’t get to the point that they’re leaders themselves. So now they’re kind of if their leader goes away, they’re kind of left without a leader, right? They’re looking for somebody. They’re looking to somebody.
Then I had a situation like this. So about a year ago, one of the leaders that I’ve worked very closely with really helped to build up a business. This leader decided to step away and when she first started to step away, a few of the people, a few of the coaches on her team underneath her had actually reached out to me. These were people who were excited. They were really looking to continue building their business. They were really looking to help others and me being the leader of leaders, when they reached out to me for help, what I did was I pushed them back to their original leader. I pushed them back to their original leader and they said that, yeah, this original leader is not doing the work right now. Can you swim the tide? Can you help me? Can you swim the tide with me?
But I don’t want to – I want to push them back to their original leader. I want their original leader to step up and to continue with the commitments and the roles that they committed to. This went on for about six or eight months, pushing them back to their original leader. Then eventually I realized that the original leader is not going to step up.
The original leader is not going to step up. So I need to step in. The original leader is not going to step up. So I need to step in. In some cases, we need to stop stepping aside and start stepping in.
A lot of our listeners, you’re leaders in your own right. You’re leaders. That’s what you’re aspiring to or that’s what you are. We have to be careful because leaders want to often step in. So step aside most of the time but know when it really is truly time to step in.
Step in and lead where somebody needs to be led. Step in when you know the time is right, when you know your energy is going to be wisely invested. So I just wanted to share that story. It’s important, the principle of stepping in.
So sometimes we need to stop stepping aside and step in. All right. I hope that helps. Have a beautiful, beautiful day.

[SPONSOR MESSAGE]
KC: Today’s episode is brought to you by our sister podcast, All About Beachbody Coaching. So All About Beachbody Coaching really allows us to do this podcast without having all those annoying commercials in the beginning for you. So All About Beachbody Coaching, the Beachbody business that Amy and I run, actually funds this podcast.
So yes, it does cost money to run this podcast, we do not charge you anything, we don’t throw in commercials or anything like that, it really is, it’s funded by our business and by our other podcast, All About Beachbody Coaching. And for me, I’m just eternally grateful for this opportunity because it’s allowed me to really create the life that I love to live.
It’s given me the opportunity to do what I want, when I want, with who I want, and even deeper than that, it’s allowed me to help others to create the same for themselves. It’s allowed me to help hundreds of other people become part time or full time Beachbody coaches, to leave that corporate 9 to 5 job and create passive income in their lives.
And really there’s nothing like that. It’s cool when you have success, it’s so much more rewarding when you help others. So I mention this or a few reasons, the first reason is, that’s actually the way that I work with people and mentor people. I don’t do anything outside of Beachbody coaching because I know that it’s such a powerful life changing tool.
So if you’re curious about working with me, interested in working one-on-one, interested in creating the type of life that you wanna live, I suggest swinging over there. The other reason is, even if somebody’s just curious, like you’ve heard about Beachbody, you know there’s a lot of Beachbody coaches out there. Maybe some of them you get a little annoyed with.
It really dives into what this business is really about, which is life transformation. So if you’re just curious, swing over there. And then the other piece is, if you’re really considering becoming a Beachbody coach, I highly, highly recommend you listen to that first.
Alright, much love guys. Again, that is the All About Beachbody Coaching Podcast, our sister podcast.
ANNOUNCER: Thank you for listening to the Business of Life Podcast. Apply what you learned today and you’ll be one step closer to creating the life you love to live.
