[INTRODUCTION]

KC:  Welcome to the Business of Life Podcast. My name is Keith Callahan, your host. And this morning, as you guys know, I record podcast every morning and this morning, they’re not just flowing out. So I have a few different topics and I started recording and I’d be halfway through it and then I’d stop because in my mind, I would just hear this podcast S-U-C-K-S. The content that I’m putting out isn’t good. It just hasn’t been that great.

So now, I’m ready to deliver a great message to you. And it’s a message that has been just super powerful for me, and it’s the process of using writing as meditation. So for me, sometimes when I sit down to meditate like we all have heard and some of us have practiced meditation but the concept of it quieting your mind, and I’ll be honest for me, sometimes when I sit down and I go to meditate, my mind gets louder and it’s just screaming. And I wind up – I went to meditate to calm myself down and I’m maybe in a worse space than I was when I started.

And I’ve learned about writing as meditation. I have two different techniques that I want to share with you. The first is a question and answer type technique. And that’s when I’m like, like I’ve got a lot on my mind and I do the writing from a parent-child.

So check this out. I do it like I am a parent asking a child, like how are you feeling, and then I allow myself, I allow my emotional body to respond from the child’s perspective. So this is a combination of like therapy and meditation. But what it does for me, this is especially like when you’re in a place of you’re kind of a little frenzy. You’re kind of like feeling anxious or you got something going on.

So you can do this parent-child writing like how are you feeling right now? And then respond from the child. Here’s the easiest way to know the child, it’s not rational and it’s your emotional body. So remember that. It’s not rational. It’s not your emotional body. And think about it like that and parent yourself that way. Don’t get into a judgmental place. Like let this little inner child vents. Let this little inner child say what he or she is afraid of, what they’re worried about, what’s on their mind. And what happens is you’re allowing that energy to be released.

So that’s the first writing. And you’ll know, like it’s just super simple. Just think about like you write from a loving, caring, kind place as a parent and then you allow the emotional body, the child, to express just like a child would. And then you respond with loving and caring. And you’re going to be amazed. This works just like touch, just like working with a child.

And if you’ve ever worked with a child, you know that they can be super upset, crying and screaming and everything is going wrong. And then once they get that out, then they’re happy and bright and shiny again. That’s how that method works.

The second method is simply a brain dump. And it’s literally, I do this. It’s three pages. I always set a time of three pages or a limit of three pages and you just write. You just write whatever comes to your mind. Just write. Just write. It’s going to be kooky. It’s going to be crazy. It’s going to into a million different directions. There’s no purpose to it at all.

This is one of my favorite places to meditate. It’s like a brain drain. You’re just writing. Stuff is coming out of your head, on to paper. And when you take stuff out of your head and you put it on to paper, there’s a magical thing with writing. For negative emotion, it dissipates through the pen into the paper. And positive emotions are reinforced by writing them up. It’s the coolest concept ever, which is right. Just let it go. Free writing.

Hope that helps. I want every year in one of those spots. Remember, those two simple methods of meditation or clearing or your own personal therapy.

All right. Have a beautiful, beautiful day. Peace.

[FINAL MESSAGE]

KC:  Hey, Keith here, and today I have a free gift for you. Listen this free gift is a list of the 12 most influential books that I’ve ever read. These are the books that have helped me to create the mindset, learn the philosophies, learn the skills to really create this big, beautiful, life that we’re living now.

I read a crazy amount of books, I really do. I’ve probably read thousands of books and these are the top 12 books that – they’re the ones that I go to, they’re the ones that I work with over, and over, and over again. They are highlighted, outlined, dog-eared. And I put this list together for you because I want it to be a shortcut.

I don’t want you to have to – you don’t have to go out and read the thousands and thousands of books. These are the 12 that I highly recommend. I have a detailed review for each book, explaining why I recommend them, why I like them, when I worked with them in my life, what part of my life they helped me to improve.

So I put this together for you, and made it super each for you to get this list. All you have to do is send a text to the number 33444 and then in the body of that text, type in “12books” with no space. So that’s the number “12books”. [SPONSOR MESSAGE]

KC: Today’s episode is brought to you by our sister podcast, All About Beachbody Coaching. So All About Beachbody Coaching really allows us to do this podcast without having all those annoying commercials in the beginning for you. So All About Beachbody Coaching, the Beachbody business that Amy and I run, actually funds this podcast.

So yes, it does cost money to run this podcast, we do not charge you anything, we don’t throw in commercials or anything like that, it really is, it’s funded by our business and by our other podcast, All About Beachbody Coaching. And for me, I’m just eternally grateful for this opportunity because it’s allowed me to really create the life that I love to live.

It’s given me the opportunity to do what I want, when I want, with who I want, and even deeper than that, it’s allowed me to help others to create the same for themselves. It’s allowed me to help hundreds of other people become part time or full time Beachbody coaches, to leave that corporate 9 to 5 job and create passive income in their lives.

And really there’s nothing like that. It’s cool when you have success, it’s so much more rewarding when you help others. So I mention this or a few reasons, the first reason is, that’s actually the way that I work with people and mentor people. I don’t do anything outside of Beachbody coaching because I know that it’s such a powerful life changing tool.

So if you’re curious about working with me, interested in working one-on-one, interested in creating the type of life that you wanna live, I suggest swinging over there. The other reason is, even if somebody’s just curious, like you’ve heard about Beachbody, you know there’s a lot of Beachbody coaches out there. Maybe some of them you get a little annoyed with.

It really dives into what this business is really about, which is life transformation. So if you’re just curious, swing over there. And then the other piece is, if you’re really considering becoming a Beachbody coach, I highly, highly recommend you listen to that first.

Alright, much love guys. Again, that is the All About Beachbody Coaching Podcast, our sister podcast.

ANNOUNCER: Thank you for listening to the Business of Life Podcast. Apply what you learned today and you’ll be one step closer to creating the life you love to live.
